Our Certifications

At Discovery Group, we are proud to uphold the highest international standards through our range of certifications. Our coffee and cocoa products are certified Organic by both the EU and USDA, ensuring they are grown and processed without synthetic chemicals, while protecting the environment and consumer health.

We are also ISO 22000 certified, demonstrating our commitment to world-class food safety and quality management across every stage of production. In addition, we are certified by the Ugandan Halal Bureau, guaranteeing that our processes meet strict Halal requirements and can be enjoyed by diverse communities worldwide.

These certifications reflect our dedication to sustainability, safety, and inclusivity, giving our customers full confidence in the integrity of every Discovery Group product.

FOOD SAFETY POLICY

Discovery Group, encompassing Discovery Trading Limited, Discovery Coftea Limited, and Discovery Impex Limited, is unwavering in its commitment to the safe sourcing, value addition, processing, and handling of all food products. This includes, but is not limited to, green coffee beans, dry cocoa beans, cured vanilla, sesame seeds, dry beans, and African bird’s eye chili pods.

We are dedicated to supplying safe, legal, and high-quality food products that consistently meet and exceed customer expectations, aligning with Discovery Group’s strategic direction. Our Food Safety Management System (FSMS) is certified and serves as the framework for establishing and reviewing food safety objectives, ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory, and mutually agreed customer requirements in both local and international markets.

Our Commitment:

  • Food Safety Culture: Food safety is paramount to our operations. We uphold the highest standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) across all our units. We follow national and internationally recognized food safety procedures and regulatory frameworks to protect the health and well-being of all stakeholders.
  • Resource Allocation & Competence: Management commits to allocating adequate resources for the continuous training, equipping, and motivation of employees. All staff are empowered to understand their roles and actively contribute to upholding food safety.
  • Risk Management: A dedicated and trained food safety team oversees the identification, assessment, and control of food safety risks, ensuring our products consistently meet stringent safety and hygiene standards.
  • Communication: We maintain effective communication of this policy throughout the organization and with relevant stakeholders, ensuring it is understood, applied, and regularly reviewed for continued suitability and effectiveness.
  • Continual Improvement: We are dedicated to the continual improvement of our FSMS. This involves addressing emerging food safety risks, complying with evolving regulations, and meeting changing market demands, thereby ensuring continued trust in the safety and integrity of all Discovery Group products.

This policy is regularly reviewed by management to ensure its continued suitability, adequacy, and effectiveness.
